GRADUATE SPOTLIGHT: Jackie Nedved of Hamilton High School played soccer for all four years at HHS, 2 on varsity, and in club. She is a kind-hearted and a generous person. She enjoys reading and hanging out with friends and family. She is a National Honor Society member and enjoys volunteering. She will be attending Clarke University in the fall, playing on their soccer team while pursuing a biology/pre-med degree as she hopes to pursue a career as an orthopedic surgeon. GRADUATE SPOTLIGHT: Alayna Martinez of Hamilton High School has passion and talent in ballet. She has been dancing for about seven years. She has beauty on the inside and out. GRADUATE SPOTLIGHT: Angelina Woodall of Hamilton High School participated in competitive dance teams with Hamilton's JCo dance team and outside of school. She works part-time at Barro's Pizza and PacSun and loves hanging out with her friends. Angie will join W.P. Carey College of Business at Arizona State University in the fall. GRADUATE SPOTLIGHT: Jordan Washington of Hamilton High School is a very talented, smart, caring, and responsible young lady. She loves to draw, is an athlete of multiple sports, and is hardworking in all areas of life. She brings a smile to everyone's face around her. She is a bright light in this world. GRADUATE SPOTLIGHT: Brooke Farabee of Hamilton High School is kind and generous to everyone she meets. She loves hanging out with her family, going to concerts, singing in choir, and watching Friends (she is a Friends' Trivia Master). Brooke has the best laugh! She loves watching EPL Football with her dad and keeps track of the games in her journal. Brooke won 'Student of the Month' and the 'Director's Award' for choir. GRADUATE SPOTLIGHT: Madison Hummel of Hamilton High School has been involved in Girl Scouts since she was a Daisy. She is involved with early childhood and volunteers at Risen Savior with the preschoolers. She works at CUSD Community Education's Kids Express. On her down time she loves to paint and draw. GRADUATE SPOTLIGHT: Mariaha Richardson-Day of Hamilton High School was on the cheer team and cheered for 10 years. She is an early childhood graduate and EVIT graduate from the MA program. She also interns at a birthing center and works at Dutch Bros part-time. She loves traveling and works with horses every Sunday at a horse rescue in Cave Creek. She plans to continue with EVIT for their CNA program a requirement for a Nursing program. And then her internship offers a year of free school learning to help women give birth and be certified, then she will do an 18 month program and go into nursing to be a tram nurse. GRADUATE SPOTLIGHT: Jahaziel Mejia from Hamilton High School likes to read and listen to music. Overcoming English as a second language and enrolling in high school mid-year, Jahaziel has managed a 3.6 GPA. He plans on attending Chandler-Gilbert Community College to work on an associate's degree in STEM, move on to a bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering and finally work for NASA or Space X. GRADUATE SPOTLIGHT: Rachel Remley from Hamilton High School is kind, compassionate, and reliable. She enjoys hiking, reading, playing board games and going on road trips. She may be shy initially, but she is also courageous and adventurous. She is a great big sister who has sister dates with her youngest sibling and always makes time for family and friends. She is close to obtaining her private pilot's license and works part time in a hospital kitchen, Rachel will attend Arizona State University Barrett's Honor College for Aviation Studies: Air Traffic Control and Business. GRADUATE SPOTLIGHT: Jansen Herrera from Hamilton High School is able to successfully balance and excel at his education, work, family, friends, fitness, and gaming. Jansen was born in the Philippines. Upon arrival to the United States, everything in Jansen's life immediately changed dramatically: new country, new primary language, new neighborhood, new home, new school, new friends, etc. Hard to imagine being uprooted and landing in such a different world. We are so impressed by Jansen's seamless transition. He has embraced this new life and is taking advantage of all the opportunities it affords him. He is an amazing young man! GRADUATE SPOTLIGHT: Orion Rodriguez from Hamilton High School is an overachiever, and his creativity has no limits. He enjoys dancing, singing, acting, hiking and running. His passion for drawing, painting, sewing and fashion design has fueled his desire to become a graphic designer. GRADUATE SPOTLIGHT: Holly Seminara of Hamilton High School is a passionate individual with broad interests. She is a 5-year veteran roller derby athlete. Holly currently skates with AZ Skate Club and will be competing in USARS Nationals for the third year in a row. She also enjoys D&D and is an Ambassador Girl Scout. GRADUATE SPOTLIGHT: Colin Ugalde from Hamilton High School loves fitness, travel and time with family and friends. He has always been a huge helper to those in need! He is a wonderful son, brother and friend. He has an extreme dedication to his health and fitness and has always had a hard working attitude! GRADUATE SPOTLIGHT: Dorothy Holt from Hamilton High School loves spending her weekends baking new treats for friends and family, listening to music, watching movies (her favorite is Shrek) and playing video games. She sang in Hamilton's choir and participated in JROTC all four years of high school, and she attended Jacobson Elementary School and Bogle Junior High School prior to becoming a Hamilton Husky. GRADUATE SPOTLIGHT: Zachary Cooper from Hamilton High School loves theatre, hiking, and the beach. He's remained strong despite obstacles he's experienced since 6th grade. He has a big heart, and he loves working and helping people. After graduation, he plans on attending Chandler Gilbert Community College to study business administration and internship. SENIOR SPOTLIGHT: Christian Anaya was a three-year starter on varsity football and in his senior year alone accumulated numerous accolades including 1st Team 6A All-State, 1st Team 6A All-Conference, 6A Premier Region Offensive Player of the Year, AZ Varsity Preps WR of the Year, JD Hill Award for WR of the Year, Hamilton Team Offensive Player of the Year and 1st Team All CUSD. He held the HHS records for most receptions in regular season, most receptions in all games and most TD receptions in a season. SENIOR SPOTLIGHT: Aaron Foote is one of Hamilton's top students. He is an AP Scholar and will graduate summa cum laude. For the last two years he played varsity basketball. He has been a part of the non-profit organization called Empty Bowls, where they raise money to feed the homeless. He has also volunteered at the Phoenix Intertribal Kateri Circle to help combat hunger. SENIOR SPOTLIGHT: Michael Randolph is the president of Speech and Debate, UNICEF and Junior Investors League. He participated in summer leadership academies over the years including Wharton's Leadership in the Business World and Pioneer Academics. For two years, Michael has been working on a project investigating the mixture of environmental science, public policy and economics. After placing 2nd at our district science fair with this project, he worked to make his project a reality by reaching out to corporations and policymakers. He taught creativity, imagination and self-confidence to disadvantaged youth through the ICAN Art Academy, a program Michael founded himself. SENIOR SPOTLIGHT: Anshul Verma has left a deep and lasting impact on our school and community. He is a kind and mature student who is Hamilton's tennis captain with a 4.84 GPA. He was also president of the Chandler Teen Advisory Council, and he devoted volunteer hours to community service events. Anshul created and led Phones for Charity, a charitable organization that collects used phones and repairs/sells them to raise money for charity. SENIOR SPOTLIGHT: Sineca Jackson attends EVIT where she will receive her certification as a medical assistant in May. She was awarded Student of the Month and is a member of their Student Council, National Technical Honor Society (NTHS), HOSA (formerly Health Occupations Students of America) Future Healthcare Professionals Organization, and Native American Club. In 2020-2022 she was Jr. Miss Gila River as an ambassador for her tribe. Currently, she is the President of the Akimel O'Otham Pee-Posh Youth Council. She is an outstanding citizen who truly cares about everyone in her community. In the fall, she will attend the University of Hawaii at Mānoa for pre-nursing in hopes of becoming an air evac nurse. SENIOR SPOTLIGHT: Michaela Lemberick was an AVID student for three years while maintaining a part-time job. She is an ACE (Achieving a College Education) scholarship recipient who completed 24 college credit hours during her high school career. Michaela joined the Arizona National Guard Reserve in January 2022 and is currently attending monthly drills. She will leave for Fort Jackson, South Carolina for basic training in July and on to Fort Lee, Virginia for Advanced Individual Training. SENIOR SPOTLIGHT: Micah Gryniewicz was a member of the girls varsity volleyball team for four years. She helped lead her team to back-to-back state titles. She was Premier Region First Team and CUSD First Team and CUSD MVP. Micah graduated at semester to begin her volleyball career at University of Alabama on a volleyball scholarship. SENIOR SPOTLIGHT: Jalen Lee is a National Merit Scholar Semifinalist. He is also an AP Scholar who will graduate summa cum laude. He played varsity basketball for three years (captain senior year), led the team to the 6A state finals as starting point guard and was selected as the 2022 Hamilton Scholar Athlete of the Year. He was also a member of National Honor Society and the Captain's Club. He participated in countless hours of volunteering with National Honor Society, Feed My Starving Children, Tempe Empty Bowls and the Captain's Club. SENIOR SPOTLIGHT: Matthew Layne is one of the top 2% students who is graduating summa cum laude. He is an Eagle Scout and an AP Scholar with Distinction. He was a member of the Model United Nations, first as committee leader in 2019, then president. He was also the Spanish Honors Society president. He has a second-degree black belt in Kempo Karate, which he worked hard for over ten years to earn. Matthew will attend USC to study chemical/biomedical engineering before medical school. He was awarded a full-tuition waiver scholarship based on merit, and he was named a Verberti Engineering School Fellow as one of the top students entering the program. Hamilton High Senior Spotlights

SENIOR SPOTLIGHT: Sarah Tran flourished as a student in the World Language Department, enrolling in the highest level of Spanish offered, Spanish 7, while learning French and German on her own over the summer. With her fluency, Sarah led Huskies Unidos, a tutoring program for English Language Development students. She was a National Honor Society (NHS), Spanish NHS, and French NHS member. Sarah won writing awards including the Veterans of Foreign Wars nominee for the Voices of Democracy High School Essay Contest and the Space2Create Competition. She was the winner of the Lucy in Space Competition from NASA and ASU's Institute of Human Origins as a junior in 2021, and she was invited as a VIP to NASA's in-person viewing of the Lucy Satellite Launch in Cape Canaveral, FL in October 2021. SENIOR SPOTLIGHT: Jordan Middleton is a dedicated student-athlete who leads from example and will be an asset to any higher education institution/athletic program. She stood out as a leader both on and off the court. Jordan's athletic awards are beyond impressive, athletic honors include but are not limited to: AVCA (American Volleyball Coaches Association) All American 1st Team, 2021 All Conference Player of the Year, AZ Gatorade Player of the Year twice, and a number of both state and national honors. Jordan's volunteer efforts include working with various animal rescues, hospice, and various veteran's organizations. Jordan continues to give her time to multiple philanthropic organizations. SENIOR SPOTLIGHT: Sam Bregman is Vice President in Launch X (entrepreneurial skills club) and Zen Minds (a club teaching members positive mental health strategies and building a safe environment). He is also a Link Crew Group Leader and National Honor Society member. Sam is the Shoes That Fit in Chandler Chapter Founder. His main goal is to raise money through online donations and partnerships of businesses to provide new sneakers and socks to children in need from CUSD. This year Sam raised $14K to purchase 400 pairs of shoes and 2,000 pairs of socks for students at San Marcos Elementary School. Sam received the HOBY Youth Leadership Ambassador conference, Junior Achievement, Invest Write competition, Husky of the Month, and Character Counts Finalist awards plus four scholarships. SENIOR SPOTLIGHT: Ananya Rai has a stellar academic career in multiple AP classes. Ananya earned nation semifinalist ranking cybersecurity competition called Cyberstart, which had nearly 46,000 participants. Besides fending off cyberthreats, Ananya perfected her physical fight by earning a black belt in taekwondo this spring. She contributes to Hamilton's community by volunteering over 300 hours for Impact Service Club, the library, DECA (formerly Distributive Education Clubs of America), National Art Honors Society and the Miracle Project. She also is a dancer, focusing on folkdance and Bollywood. Ananya will attend Barrett, The Honors College at ASU to major in computer science and specialize in artificial intelligence. SENIOR SPOTLIGHT: By junior year, Ryan Gan had taken 18 AP exams and passed them all with 4's and 5's. He is an AP Scholar with Honors who will graduate summa cum laude. Ryan teaches at various schools in CUSD always giving 110% by finding innovative ways to engage students and increase participation during instruction. Ryan volunteers at STEM camps known as Engineering for Kids. He is a member of National Honor Society, Speech and Debate, Economics Challenge, Physics Olympiad and Math Club. SENIOR SPOTLIGHT: Ariana Blackwater has earned her certification as a clinical medical assistant at EVIT. She is a member of the Native America Club and FCCLA (Family, Career and Community Leaders of America) for Early Childhood where she completed a two-year internship working in the daycare. For the past three years, she has been a member of the Akimel O'Otham Pee-Posh youth council and is currently the vice president. SENIOR SPOTLIGHT: Brenna Gentner is a second-year student in the fashion program at EVIT in which she is the co-president of the PM class. Her team competed at the FCCLA (Family, Career and Community Leaders of America) State Leadership Conference in Tucson where her team received gold medals, qualified for Nationals and was awarded a $5,000 per year renewable scholarship to attend FIDM (Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising). SENIOR HIGHLIGHT: Kennedy Constance is graduating magma cum laude. She is a four-time academic letterman, played softball for Hamilton, was an active member of Leo Club and National Honor Society, as well as Link Crew co-president. SENIOR HIGHLIGHT: Kristiana Corona has been an active member of Hamilton's theatre department for all four years of high school. She has also been involved with Urban Lemmings, Hamilton's improv comedy club, since her junior year. She is a National Hispanic Scholar and head of fundraising for the International Thespian Society board. She has also been nominated for Best Actress at the Gammage High School Musical Theatre awards and made it to the top 5 actresses in Arizona. She has won multiple National Youth Arts Awards for her performances in and outside of Hamilton theatre.
