Required Resources for Land Based Instruction
-One notebook lined paper and a pocket for handouts
-Pencils
-Clothing and footwear appropriate for movement
Virtual Attendance Statement:
Attendance is based on engagement. If a student is not present for synchronous instruction and does not complete the asynchronous/alternative assignment for the daily class meeting, then the student is considered absent. Teachers will contact attendance clerks once a student is determined to be absent.
Make-up Work/Late Work/Office Hours/Tutoring
Students with poor attendance will have difficulty passing this class. Students with unexcused absences will not be able to make-up work. After 10 absences, you may be dropped from this class without credit. Students that are absent will have the same amount of time they are absent to make-up work. Collecting make-up work is the responsibility of the student. Late work is not accepted. Office hours for make-up and tutoring are 2:15-3:00 M-TH.

- Follow all other school rules and procedures for on-line learning
Students who violate these policies will receive the following consequences:
-1st Offence-verbal warning
-2nd Offence-student-teacher conference/contract
-3rd Offence-Parent contact
-4th Offence-Parent contract
-5th Offence-Referral to Administration
The teacher reserves the right to skip any of these steps if deemed necessary for the good of the learning environment.

Appropriate use of technology – board policy IJNDC-R:
The Governing Board intends that technological resources provided by the District be used in a safe responsible and proper manner in support of the instructional program and for the advancement of student learning. It is the policy of the Chandler Unified School District to maintain an environment that promotes ethical and responsible conduct in all electronic resource activities by staff and students. The District reserves the right to monitor use of the District’s systems for improper use without warning or prior consent. Students shall be informed that computer files and electronic communications, including email, are not private and may be accessed by the District at any time. Inappropriate use may result in disciplinary action and/or legal action in accordance with the law and Board policy. Grading Procedures
Grades are given every quarter. The quarter grades are averaged with the final using a 40-40-20 split. Grades will start over every nine weeks. Students are evaluated on the following things:
- Class participation
- Performance
- Completion of work
- Attendance at plays/performances when land-based instruction begins.
The grade breakdown is as follows:
100-90A
89-80 B
79-70 C
69-60 D
59 and below is a F
Homework Policy
Homework will be given periodically. Homework could involve writing, memorization, rehearsal, research, or performance attendance when we return to land-based instruction. Students are required to attend Hamilton Theatre Shows, once we return to land-based instruction and write critiques. Extra credit can be given for (1) attending extra performances both on and off campus and writing a critique-25 extra credit points, (2) participating in non-academic Hamilton plays/musicals/competitions-25 points per performance day, (3) helping out in the shop after school or on scheduled Saturdays when we return to land-based instruction-10 points per hour.
