For more information on the CEP program please visit our page: CUSD Community Eligibility ProvisionOther Information:
-
Students who have been accepted to the program in the past must re-apply each school year to continue receiving the benefits after the first 30 days of a new school year.
- Your children, or other household members do not have to be U.S. citizens to apply for free or reduced price meals.
- If you have multiple children attending CUSD schools there is no need to fill out an application for each child. Use one Free and Reduced Price School Meals Application for all students in your household.
- If your child was approved for last year you will need to fill out a new application again this year. Your child's application is only good for that school year and for the first few days of this school year. You must send in a new application unless the school told you that your child is eligible for the new school year.
- The Child Nutrition and WIC Reauthorization Act of 2004 established that once a household is approved for free and reduced-price benefits, the household will remain eligible for those benefits for the remainder of the school year plus the first 30 operating days in the following school year. This means the household is no longer required to report changes in circumstances, such as an increase in income, a decrease in household size, or when the household is no longer certified as eligible for food stamps or Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) once approved.
