Mr. Powers’ late work policy:
As outlined in the syllabus for my Social Studies class, students will periodically be assigned a variety of homework: readings, classwork not completed, research, etc. Unless otherwise noted, homework is due at the beginning of the next class period. Students’ comprehension of unit material/content will be measured via assessments, including tests and quizzes.
In addition, as noted in the Casteel Student Handbook, the expectations are as follows:
Students are responsible for planning with their teachers to complete make-up work for excused absences or suspensions. Make-up work must be completed within the same amount of time after returning as the class periods absent (for example, allow two days to complete missed work for two days of absences). *Make-ups will not be allowed in the case of unexcused absences.
It is imperative that all assignments are completed thoroughly and timely. As such, a late work policy will be implemented in this course for all class assignments and projects.
Below is a guide to my grading schedule:
1 – 3 days past the due date = 25% deducted from grade
4 – 10 days past the due date = 50% deducted from grade
Beyond 10 days, it will be marked as incomplete.
