- Is it required?

In support of the district one-to-one (1:1) initiative, we require all students to use our district-issued devices for educational purposes. Our devices are equipped with proper wi-fi connectivity at school compared to personal devices, strong filters, and educational apps and extensions used by the teachers that are unavailable on personal devices. The use of the district-issued device is not only a valuable resource used by many teachers for day-to-day instruction, but most importantly, exams. One of the apps included on these student devices is a secure testing app. Additionally, teachers can monitor, in real time, from their teacher's workstation all school-issued laptops being used in their class at that moment to ensure on-task behavior. This is not possible with personal devices.
List of important assessments that will require the use of the school-issued device.
- All common-final exams at the end of each semester (December and May) (No paper-versions permitted)
- PSAT (October - Freshmen, Sophomores, Juniors)
- ACT (April - Juniors only)
- AzSci (April - Juniors only)
- ACT ASpire (April - Freshmen only)
- Several AP Exams (May) (TBD on the specific AP Tests that will be computer-based)
- Regular Classroom Assessments (All Students - as determined by the teacher.)
NOTE: Beginning the 2nd quarter of the school year, Hamilton High is expecting all students to bring and use their school-issued laptop and charger during the school day. Please do not bring personal laptops.
