New cadets do not have to wait until the first day of class to get started with AFJROTC. Each summer,AZ-862 hosts a one-day training, competitive and orientation event tailored specifically for “First Year Cadets” of all grade levels. The morning is a mini-basic training session where prospective cadets learn to drill and develop teamwork in an organized/structured setting. Interspersed throughout the drill training is physical exercises, team-building exercises, and flight competitions. Winners in individual and flight categories can earn "BoB" honors!
After the day's orientation activities, prospective cadets are invited to stay and get to know the current cadets in a more casual setting. Lunch is provided for this “Q and A” session with the cadets.
Students who indicated an interest in AFJROTC on their registration forms will receive an invitation through the mail. Invitees can also bring friends who are eligible for enrollment at Hamilton High School. Prospective cadets who encourage another student to join the AFJROTC program are eligible for an award that can be displayed on their uniform.
BoB PROGRAM BEGINS AT 8:00 a.m. IN THE HHS MAIN GYM AND ENDS NO LATER THAT 12:30 p.m.
PLEASE REMEMBER TO DOWNLOAD AND BRING A SIGNED PERMISSION SLIP (link above)
Please contact MSgt Driver at driver.fred@cusd80.com or Lt Col Kline at kline.daniel@cusd80.com to register for BoB, or to answer any questions you may have. Make sure to indicate the number of participants that will be attending. If you have friends who will be attending HHS this upcoming school year, have them fill out a permission slip as well, they are welcome to attend BoB.
So, if you’re ready to be a part of a dynamic team, you just have one question to ask yourself.... Can you be BoB?
