• Curriculum

The OPEN PE curriculum and Pangrazzi method is used when teaching physical education.  This means your child's day in PE is generally divided into 4 sections.

Introduction Activity: This generally involves a quick game or activity to help warm-up your child's body (ie. muscles) so he or she is ready for PE.

Fitness Development Activity: Students work on their components of health-related fitness (aerobic endurance, muscular endurance and strength, flexibility) when involved in fitness development activities (ie. sit-ups, push-ups, jumping jacks, etc.).

Lesson Focus: The lesson focus is when the students are working on developing particular skills (ie. dribbling a basketball, kicking a soccerball, throwing/catching a ball).

Game: Students end their day involved in a game that usually involves the skill(s) they have been working on.
