Practice will be Monday through Friday from 3:00-5:30 PM.
Matches
All matches begin at 3:30 PM and out home tennis courts are located between the track and the swimming pool on Erie Street. Bring your chair, sun umbrella, and a cold drink when you come to watch. We will travel by bus to all the away matches as a team. However, by notifying me at the away match, your daughter may ride back with you. There are NO cuts for freshman tennis and each player will ALWAYS play singles or doubles and sometimes both unless the opposing team has very few players. Matches consist of 6 singles and 3 doubles, but exhibition matches will also be played.
Equipment and Uniform
Players will need a good pair of tennis shoes/sneakers. The tennis racquet doesn't have to be an expensive one but please stay away from "junior size" racquets or something that's too heavy. The school does provide tennis uniforms (which will be distributed upon the beginning of match play).
Water
With the heat, players need to be well hydrated BEFORE they arrive to practice and WHILE they practice! Please join me by encouraging your daughter to drink 3-4 (16 oz) bottle of water throughout the day and not just at practice. Water will be provided at practice and at the matches.
Parent Support
Parent support is very important to the team. Hopefully you will have an opportunity to come and see your daughter play! Another form of support that is greatly appreciated is financial. A major source of funding for the CHS Lady Wolves Tennis Program comes through AZ tax Credit monies. Please consider making a designated Tax Credit donation to Girls Tennis in your child's name. Remember...you receive the tax credit money back in your AZ State Tax return. Family and friends can donate in your child's name, too! You can find more information on the district's tax credit page.
There is also a Tennis Booster Club that you can join. The Booster Club's main objectives are to provide support and assistance to the Tennis program at Chandler High School, enhance benefits by fundraising, and collaborating with the community to take advantage of community resources.
If you use a Fry's VIP card, you can go to the Fry's Community Rewards website and click on "Enroll Now". Once you have entered your email and password, you will be asked some information and then asked to put in the name or number of the organization. Enter number 41609 and it will link your card to the Tennis Booster Club. Purchase accumulations begin on September 1st, 2017. Every time you shop for groceries and swipe your card, CHS Tennis will earn a rebate.
