•  Perry High School New Boys Cross Country Coach - Daniel Pescador

    The Perry Athletic department would like to announce the addition of Daniel Pescador as the new Boys Cross Country Coach for the 2014-15 school year.

    Coach Pescador was a 2002 graduate of Highland High School. He served as team captain for the cross country and track teams for two years and helped lead the cross country team to consecutive state championship appearances. He was an All-Region honoree as a senior.  Coach Pescador graduated from Northwest Missouri State (Maryville, MO) in 2009. As a student-athlete, he served as captain of the cross country team and ran primarily the 3K steeplechase and the 5K for the track team.

    Coach Pescador began his coaching career as an assistant coach for cross country and track at his alma mater, Highland High School in Gilbert, Ariz., in 2008. He helped lead the men's team to the school's first-ever Division 1 State Championship in 2011, with the woman's team finishing in third place. Daniel also coached the woman's 4x800 relay team to back-to-back State Championships in 2011 and 2012 and helped lead the girls track team to a runner-up finish in the division 1 state championships in 2012, behind team champions, Chandler high. In four years at Highland, he helped produce several runners who went on to compete at the Division I and II collegiate levels. 

    Most recently, Coach Pescador served 2 years as an assistant Cross Country and Track coach and recruiting coordinator for Cal State East Bay from 2012-14.  In 2012-13, Pescador developed CSUEB track's first All-CCAA runner in Daniel Damian, with an eighth place finish in the 3K steeplechase. In the 2013 Cross Country season, Daniel coached another first for Eastbay, in having an All-Conference runner and Freshman of the Year in cross country. The following track season in 2014, Daniel had All-Conference scorers in the Women's 10k, 1500, 800 and Men's 1500m runs. All of his distance runners established personal best under Coach Daniel's direction. In January of 2013, he obtained his USA Track and Field Level 1 coaching certification.

    Perry High School New Boys Tennis Coach - Tom Lennox
     

    The Perry Athletic department would like to announce the addition of Tom Lennox as the new Boys Tennis Coach for the 2014-15 school year, pending board approval.  Tom was born and raised in Cherry Hill, New Jersey. He attended Cherry Hill East High and was undefeated for his four years on the tennis team. From there Tom received ascholarship to play at Iowa State University where he became captain, #1 in singles and doubles and leader in wins for four years straight.

    Since college, Tom has played tennis representing theSouthwest Region in the USTA Nationals and other teams in the Midwest. He also coached his daughter through junior tennis, high school tennis and as a scholarship player at Truman State University in Missouri.

    After 32 years in business management, Tom retired and volunteered as the Perry Girl’s Assistant Coach for the 2014 Tennis season. Tom met his wife, Jeri, on the tennis court. They have a beautiful daughter, son-in-law and three grandkids. Coach Lennox can be reached at talennox58@gmail.com.
