I started teaching spanish at Chandler H.S. in 1997. I began teaching dual-credit courses for Rio Salado Community College in 2008. I have taught levels 1, 2, 3 Honors, IB/AP Spanish 4, 5 and 6. I have coached football and baseball. I also coordinate Link Crew, a freshman-transition program that connects 11th and 12th graders with incoming freshman students. I have been involved with Link Crew since 2002. I have been the Student Council Advisor since 2014.
I graduated from Corona del Sol H.S. in Tempe, AZ. I have a B.A. in Spanish from Grand Canyon University, and a M.Ed. Secondary Education from Northern Arizona University.
My wife is from Mexico, we met while I was on a foreign-exchange program in 1995. We were married in May of 1996. We are blessed with 2 awesome boys. We primarily speak spanish at home.
I enjoy camping and backpacking in the Rim Lakes area northeast of Payson, and traveling internationally. I have been to Mexico, Spain, Venezuela, Costa Rica and Guatemala. We normally visit family in Mexico at least twice a year, allowing me to enjoy my favorite meal - Tacos de carne asada! I am an original AZ Cardinals fan - My father I and had season tickets at ASU stadium in section 204.
