Grand Canyon College
An exciting new opportunity (starting Fall 2022) has opened up at GCU. GCU will be providing a top-notch electrician pre-apprenticeship education in a growing field while enjoying the benefits that a traditional college campus experience provides. After 16 credits - one semester - students can complete the Pre-Apprenticeship for Electricians course, enabling them to apply for an electrical apprenticeship and begin securing their financial future.
Pre-Apprenticeship for Electricians:
- An estimated 9% growth for electricians is expected from 2020-2030, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
- Only four (4) college-level courses are required to be successfully completed within a 15-week period.
- Hands-on real-world applications within courses on GCU’s campus in Phoenix, Arizona
- Afternoon and evening classes are scheduled three to four times per week.
- Qualified students must possess a driver’s license and be authorized to work in the U.S.
- Fully funded tuition for Arizona residents/U.S. citizens (for Fall 2022)
Benefits of the Pre-Apprenticeship for Electricians:
- The GCU Pre-Apprenticeship courses are designed to provide access to an Employer Apprenticeship Program in the State of Arizona. Those who are accepted into and complete an Employer Apprenticeship program and become electricians may earn $56,900 annually (national median rate), according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, as of May 2020). Salaries will vary based on the individual and the hiring company.
- Prepare for challenging, hands-on work ideal for those who do not want to be confined to an office or cubicle.
- Eligibility to work during pre-apprenticeship
- Access to GCU’s main campus and all of the benefits that a traditional campus atmosphere provides
- On-campus support, including career preparation and free tutoring is available through GCU’s Academic and Career Excellence (ACE) Centers.
