    Perry High School New Boys Basketball Coach for 2016-17 - Sam Duane

     
    Coach Sam Duane enters his first season as the Boys Head Coach.  He completed a 12 year run as Tempe Corona del Sol's Head Boys Coach in 2015 by winning their 4th straight Division 1 State Championship, a number 6 National Ranking and a 74 game win streak verses Arizona schools.  In his tenure at Corona, his teams were 274-87, with 1 top 20 national finish and 2 top 10 national finishes.
     
    Coach Duane's previous coaching experiences include stints at Phoenix College and Mesa Community College as an Assistant, and as the first Boys basketball coach in Mesquite High School history. In his five years at Mesquite he won 1 Boys Region Championship and 2 fiesta region coach of the year awards.
     
    Duane's overall record as a head coach is 337-190. He has taken his teams to 5 State Championship games, has been named Arizona Coach of the Year 4 times,  Region Coach of the year 7 times and Maxpreps National Coach of the Year in 2015.
     

    Coach Duane has a B.S in Exercise Science from Grand Canyon University and a Masters in Educational Leadership from Northern Arizona University. He will be teaching physical education at Perry and starting in July 2016, he can be reached at duane.samuel@cusd80.com.

    Perry High School New Girls Basketball Coach for 2016-17 - Andrew "Mike" Curtis
     
    Coach Mike Curtis is entering his first season as the head coach of Pumas Girls Basketball program and 11th season overall. His most recent coaching stops include time at Mountain Pointe High School, Tempe High School, Higley High School and most recently, Corona Del Sol High School, where he was the assistant varsity boys basketball coach. He has a BAS in Law Enforcement Management from Northern Arizona University. Prior to completing his degree from NAU, Coach Curtis served four years in the United States Navy.
