I began my career as a full time sworn law enforcement officer with the Washington County Sheriff's Office (Hillsboro, OR) in 1998. I am originally from the Pacific Northwest. I relocated to Arizona and began working for the Chandler Police Department in 2002. Over the years I have accumulated two decades of patrol experience, while also spending time in a variety of other assignments like: Field Training Officer, SWAT team operator, Financial Crimes Detective, and School Resource Officer.

I have been a Police Officer with the Chandler Police Department since 2011 and in 2023 became a School Resource Officer. I have previously served the Chandler community as a Patrol Officer (5 years) and Detective in the Special Victims Unit (7 years). Over the years I have completed many additional hours of training in an effort to assist the community members so they have a safe place to work, live, and thrive. I am an AZPOST General Instructor and Crisis Intervention Team Certified. I am a born and raised Arizonan who loves our state and our communities. I love spending time with family, basketball, football, sports in general, and the great outdoors. During my 12 years as a Police Officer with the Chandler Police Department, I have worked over eight years in patrol and two years on our fulltime Bike Unit. I'm a certified Crisis Intervention Officer (CIT) and a Veteran of the United States Army. I hold a Bachelor of Science degree from San Jose State University in Criminal Justice Administration. Hello, my name is Officer Tyler Service (yes, Service is my real name), and I am the School Resource Officer for Bogle Junior High School. I have been a Chandler Police Officer since 2010 serving in patrol and for the last two years as a School Resource Officer at Bogle Junior High School. I'm a certified Crisis Intervention Officer (CIT), and I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice from Ottawa University. I am the Honor Guard Captain for the Chandler Honor Guard, and I enjoy getting to know people of all backgrounds. I have been a Chandler Police Officer for 19 years, 16 as a School Resource Officer and currently assigned to Chandler High School. Twelve of those years as the SRO trainer for the Arizona Department of Education in the implementation of the Arizona School Safety Programs. I also serve as the President of the Arizona School Resource Officer Association. I am an AZPOST General Instructor, certified Trainer for Youth Mental Health First Aid, Crisis Intervention Team Certified, Instructor for the Thrive-Resilience Program for Teens, Life Saving Award Recipient, Community Resource Officer of the Year, Arizona Law Related Education Officer of the Year, and Father of the Decade, according to my four daughters. I enjoy spending time with family, basketball, football, sports in general, remodeling, car detailing, and occasional mint chocolate chip ice cream. In addition, my bride and I of 25 years live in Chandler where we have enjoyed raising our four daughters. We have a recent high school graduate, college graduate, and a wonderful new son-in-law.

Hello, my name is Shawn Hansen and I have been a police officer with the Chandler Police Department since 2004 and am currently assigned as the School Resource Officer (SRO) at Hamilton High School. My primary role at the school is to ensure the safety of all students and staff. I also provide classroom instruction of law-related topics throughout the school year. Prior to my assignment as a SRO, I worked as a Field Training Officer (FTO) for approximately 11 years. As a FTO, I trained and mentored newly hired officers of the Chandler Police Department. I am also a certified Crisis Intervention Trained (CIT) officer, and a member of the SWAT Negotiations team. I am a U.S. Marine Corps veteran, once a Marine always a Marine! Greetings Payne Panther Family! It is a fantastic experience getting to know the wonderful students here at Payne Junior High.

A little about me…. I have served approximately twenty years in law enforcement, with the last 16.5 years being here at the Gilbert Police Department. I have primarily worked as a patrol officer and have been a senior member of the firearms training unit for most of my time with GPD. Prior to policing, I served with the Army National Guard (in Arizona and Ohio) and obtained my Bachelor of Science degree in Justice Studies, from Arizona State University.

My primary function is to maintain the safety of everyone on campus, with my secondary being to break down the barriers that often exist between today’s youth and law enforcement. I am a full-time father to two teenaged boys, which gives me an edge in being able to connect to your students.

I am supremely grateful for this opportunity to work alongside the students and staff of Payne Junior High and I thank you for the distinct honor of serving as your School Resource Officer.

I have been a School Resource Officer (SRO) for the last ten years. This time has been divided between Santan Junior High School and Aprende Middle School; however I am now back here at Santan with! I spend a lot of time in the classrooms providing presentations on topics like Bullying, Internet Safety, Juvenile Law, and Vaping to name a few.
