About
Broomfield...
Welcome to the orchestra! I am excited to be teaching orchestra in the Chandler Unified School District. Learning to play an instrument opened up a whole world of sound, new friends, and a lifelong love of music. I hope that I can pass on this love of music to my very special orchestra students.
My Education and Professional Background
I have a Bachelor of Musical Arts in violin performance from Arizona State University. I have a post baccalaureate degree in music education with an emphasis on string pedagogy. In addition, I have performed in music festivals in Sarasota Florida, North Carolina, and Interlochen. I have also been a member of the Phoenix Symphony and the Symphony of the West Valley. Currently I am serving as concertmaster of the Mesa Community College Orchestra.
My Educational Philosophy
Music enhances our lives in so many ways. When we study music, we are also learning history, mathematics, and technology as well as stimulating our imagination. Music is an international language that is understood worldwide.
