    Welcome!

Hello, my name is Jonathan Gott, and I am thrilled to work with you student! There are are so many musical paths to explore here at Basha High School. I'm involved with teaching the string options to your student.

Beginning Guitar is open to any BHS student (9-12) who has interest in playing the guitar. No prior experience is necessary, and you do not need to own your own instrument at home to enroll in this course.

Intermediate Guitar is open to any BHS student (9-12) who has completed Beginning Guitar with a passing grade. This is a continuation of Beginning Guitar.

AMS Orchestra is open to any student in the Basha Accelerated Middle School Program. There are two different orchestras for my AMS Students. Students are separated in classes based upon my discretion.

    My Education and Professional Background

I was born and raised in Iowa where I was introduced to music. I've been involved in music as long as I can remember. Singing in choir was my introduction to music from a young age. At the elementary level, I learned how to play the cello. As a Sophomore in high school I moved to Chandler, Arizona where I graduated high school from Dobson High School in Mesa, AZ. I attended Grand Canyon University, where I studied under Dr. Sheila Corley and received my BA in Music Education in 2013. I did my student teaching in CUSD at Basha High School, where I am happy to call my home.

    My Educational Philosophy

From singing in the car, to playing instruments in small groups, to performing for thousands, I want to help my students become life long lovers of music.
