    Thank you so much for visiting my website! I am super excited to be a part of ACP High School and look forward to a great year!

    This is my 11th year teaching and my first year at ACP high school. I have been living in Arizona for 8 years and moved here from Maryland with my wife and two children. I am originally from California and I am a huge 49ers fan!

    I want to support my students in every way possible. Please don't hesitate to reach out to me if you have any questions or concerns. I will do my best to respond to emails within 1 business day. I look forward to partnering with you help your child reach their full potential in Math!

    My Education and Professional Background

    I started teaching in 2012 and joined CUSD in 2019. I have taught in Montgomery County in Maryland, Mesa High, BASIS Scottsdale and Phoenix, and Santan Junior High School. My undergraduate degree is in Sociology from UCLA. I have an MBA in finance from Howard University and an MAT in Secondary Mathematics from Johns Hopkins University.

    Teaching was a change in careers for me, but I know it was what I was always meant to do. I love teaching math and making it fun for my students. I remember how boring math class was for me when I was in school, and it motivates me to keep trying new ways to make the subject more fun and engaging for my students.

    My Educational Philosophy

    I believe that student success begins with the teacher and requires a partnership with parents. Math can be challenging at times and it is one of the few subjects that requires lots of practice for understanding and mastery.

    I also believe that students need to believe in their own ability and not become discouraged when they make a mistake. Making mistakes in math is a part of the learning process and is essential to learning any new concept. I do my best to provide a fun and safe learning environment where students feel encouraged to participate in the lesson and feel important, capable, and that they can do challenging things.
