Welcome!
Welcome to the Weinberg Gifted Academy Pre-Kindergarten Family! I look forward to a fun and engaging school year with your child and your family! Thank you for being my partner in education.
My Education and Professional Background
I graduated from Arizona State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education with a specialization in Early Childhood Education. Later, I received a Master’s degree in Elementary Curriculum and Instruction from Northern Arizona University. I hold endorsements in Early Childhood Education, SEI and as a Reading Specialist. I am working towards an endorsement in Gifted Education. I spent almost eight years in the elementary school classroom in the Tucson Unified School District and the Tempe Elementary School District. I taught in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd grades. I stayed home with my children for a few years. I was a substitute teacher here in Chandler for eight years and I taught half-day preschool for five years at Dayspring Preschool and Kindergarten before becoming a PreK Teacher for three years here at CUSD. I taught Kindergarten then First Grade during my first two years at Weinberg Gifted Academy. I am so excited about teaching Pre-Kindergarten in it's first year at WGA.
My Educational Philosophy
I believe all children have the ability to learn. My responsibility is to provide developmentally appropriate academic as well as social and emotional learning experiences that develop the whole child and to create a love of learning that will last a lifetime. I will create a safe, nurturing environment that your child will look forward to coming to each day. I will provide your child an environment in which they learn how to learn through asking questions, exploration, problem solving and yes by making a few mistakes now and then.
