About
Kantzos...
Hello all! Welcome to my website. Here you will find some of the songs and resources from the music classes we have together.
My Education and Professional Background
Alexander is in his first year of teaching after receiving a Bachelor of Music in Music Learning and Teaching from ASU. Alexander has worked with many groups in the Phoenix Area including the Actor's Youth Theatre in Gilbert, for their production of The Hunchback of Notre Dame, the Chandler Academy of Performing Arts and Technology, and with the Basha High School Accelerated Middle School; as well as Private Tutoring in Violin and Viola for students and children in the Phoenix Area.
My Educational Philosophy
My educational philosophy is that music and art is essential to the development and education of all children, and it should be applied equally and to everyone. Some of the principles I teach by are: Music should always be a positive experience, Learning is a collective experience, not “person in charge and person following”, Children are inherently musical, All children are at different levels, and that should be accepted AND planned for, As a teacher I am part of the child’s path, The student’s experience is the MOST important, Children are human beings and people, and I am not better than children, Trust is essential to a student’s experience in a classroom, I will never be a perfect teacher, and finally I should always be learning and growing.
