    My Education and Professional Background

    Christine Smith is currently in her first year as Associate Director of Bands at Perry High School, leading the Concert Band and Guitar program, and assisting the Puma Regiment and Winter Season Ensembles. She received her Bachelor of Music Education in 2021 from Northern Arizona University, where she also studied clarinet performance. Prior to her time at Perry, she performed as principal in the top collegiate ensembles at NAU, various ensembles in the Phoenix area including Symphony of the Southwest and East Valley Millennial Choirs and Orchestras, and was a three-time member of the Arizona All-State Honor Band.

    My Educational Philosophy

    Christine believes in creating an environment where students are supported, motivated, and are allowed the space to be authentically themselves. Participation in music ensembles gives students the tools and opportunities to develop lasting relationships, nurture their talents, and continue to succeed in every path they may choose to take.
