    Welcome!

    My name is Debra Georgvich and I am a native Arizonan. I grew up in Tempe/Chandler and I'm happy to call Chandler my home. I love hiking, paddle boarding and all things outdoors. I have a wonderful husband, Mike, and two amazing boys, Mason (20) and Cooper (16) and an adorable golden retriever named Lego. Mason attends NAU and Cooper Basha High School. Mason is majoring in business marketing and a minor in finance and Cooper is a proud member of the Basha High School varsity football team.

    My Education and Professional Background

    I began my teaching career in CUSD many, many years ago.  Between special education, 4th grade and administration, I was in education for 12 years.  I took some time off to raise my kids and I am excited to be back with CUSD, it truly is the best school district in AZ.  I have a dual bachelor's degree from Northern Arizona University in elementary education and special education with an emphasis in learning disabilities. After earning my bachelor's, I went on to get my master's degree in educational leadership and continued my education, earning my principal certificate.  I feel the foundation of learning must encompass establishing a connection with the students I teach and making them feel comfortable and valued so they take educational risks.  In my class we celebrate mistakes and learn from them.
