    Welcome!

My name is Cesar Rojas, and this will be my fifth year teaching, and my second year at Casteel High School. My first three years of teaching were at Cactus Shadows High School in Cave Creek, Arizona. I was the head wrestling coach and the assistant cross country coach at Cactus Shadows and I am the current head boys (high school) wrestling coach here at Casteel.

I was born outside the Chicago, Illinois area and grew up in Gilbert, Arizona. I attended Mesquite High School where I was involved in numerous clubs/organizations, as well as athletics. It was while in high school that I joined the wrestling team and fell in love with the sport.

In my free time, I enjoy hanging out with friends, family and seeing my adorable two nephews and my niece. When the weather is right, I also like taking a ride on my motorcycle!

    My Education and Professional Background

I attended Waldorf University in Forest City, Iowa on a wrestling and academic scholarship. I received my bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice Administration , graduated with highest distinction (summa cum laude), and earned national recognition as a collegiate student-athlete.

After college, I began a career in law enforcement. Specifically, working in the adult penal and juvenile justice systems. In my time in the field, I worked with gang members, death row inmates, and juvenile delinquents (as young as the age of eleven). Although a very interesting and exciting career field, I knew I wanted to serve my community in a different light.

So, I left the field and went back to school where I received my teaching certificate in Secondary Education (Grades 6-12), specializing in History.I completed my student teaching here at Casteel High School, so I am glad to be back! In June of 2022, I completed my master's degree in educational administration, graduating with highest distinction.

-B.A. Waldorf University, Criminal Justice Administration (2013)

-Postbaccalaureate. Rio Salado College, Secondary Education-History (2019)

-M.Ed. Acacia University, Educational Administration (2022)

*High Qualified in the following subjects: History (all areas), Political Science/Government, Criminial Justice, and Physical Education (PE).

    My Educational Philosophy

I am thrilled to begin this year with you all! Wherever your future endeavors may lie, I aspire my students to challenge themselves and never sell themselves short. It is through challenging oneself, that we learn our truest potential. I hope to create lifelong learners in my students and have them value the importance of an education. As the late Nelson Mandela once said, "Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world".
