    Welcome!

    Welcome Bears! My name is Caryn Cole and I am the Behavior Specialist here at San Marcos. I am excited to support students and staff in ways that help everyone have an excellent school year filled with meaningful learning and growth. My husband and I have amazing twin daughters and reside here in Chandler with our 4 adorable four-legged children.  In my spare time, I love to read, watch movies, travel, and spend time with family and friends. 

    My Education and Professional Background

    I hold a BS in Family Studies and Child Development as well as an MA in Special Education from the University of Arizona.  In addition to my teaching credential, I obtained an AZ Principal certificate.  I have served in both the Kyrene School District as well as CUSD in various roles.  These include 15 years teaching in special education, general education, and gifted education classrooms, as well as 14 years in administration as a Certified Specialist, Dean of Students, and as a CUSD principal for the past 8 years.  

    My Educational Philosophy

    I believe all children deserve a rigorous, engaging, and culturally relevant education in a safe, supportive school environment that values diversity and differences. I embrace a whole child approach to education where strong relationships are key in creating a school community with a sense of belonging and connection in order for students to thrive and become well-rounded healthy individuals.
