    Welcome!

Welcome to Andersen Elementary! I am honored to announce that Andersen Elementary is an International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program school. As the IB coordinator for Andersen, I am looking forward to the exciting years to come helping support you and your child as they engage in a student-centered and inquiry-based curriculum.

    My Education and Professional Background

I am highly qualified in the state of Arizona in Early Childhood and Elementary Education. My career began with doing child development studies for First Things First and as a Quality First Assessor for Southwest Human Development. I have also taught Pre-K, Kindergarten, First Grade, Second Grade, and Third Grade. I have been teaching at Andersen Elementary School since 2010.

    My Educational Philosophy

I believe in a student-centered education and creating a safe environment where all students are welcome and enjoy engaging in the learning process. We are preparing our students to be independent learners, thinkers, and problem solvers. I believe in creating an environment that inspires students to take risks and encourages them to think globally.

The Choice is Yours! Why Choose Andersen Elementary?

At Andersen Elementary, we believe in providing your children with a memorable year of personalized-learning, while also helping them to develop their research, communication, socialization, and self-management skills. The International Baccalaureate states that, “The IB develops inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through education that builds intercultural understanding and respect.” With an ever changing and fast growing world, we feel that it is important for your children to not only be highly engaged in learning the Arizona State Learning Standards through transdisciplinary inquiry-based learning, but also to develop a sense of self-worth and self-knowledge in a safe and inclusive environment where everyone belongs and diverse cultures are respected.
