    Welcome to 6th grade! I'm excited to get to know you, and learn how you learn. I am certain we will grow a lot as learners, students, and people this year.

    My Education and Professional Background

    This is my second year at WGA. 6th grade is where I belong.

    I hold a Master’s Degree in Elementary Education and have 14 years of teaching experience at an international school in Finland. I am originally from Finland, but I grew up internationally. Being exposed to different countries and cultures at a young age shaped my perspective and broadened my understanding of the world. My wonder and curiosity led me to study languages, history, social sciences, and education. Now I am a passionate educator, and my classroom is my happy place!

    My Educational Philosophy

    My teaching philosophy centers around the belief that we are all learners and teachers in the classroom. Each individual brings unique knowledge and experiences that can enrich the educational environment. Encouraging a culture of curiosity and choosing courage over comfort, I actively promote questioning in my classroom. I embrace the idea of co-creating the curriculum with my students, valuing their input and allowing them to have a voice in shaping their educational path. My students know how they learn the best, and I am always willing to listen, learn and get it right.
