    Welcome!

    Welcome to my 6th grade class! I can’t wait to meet you and I look forward to fulfilling my role in fostering a passion for learning and collaboration. I hope my students have a phenomenal educational experience here at Navarette, as I certainly did when I was a student at this wonderful school many years ago.

    My Education and Professional Background

    I attended both Arizona State University and University of South Carolina for my undergrad and continued on to earn my Graduate Degree in Educational Administration and Leadership from Grand Canyon University. I started my teaching career here in Chandler, right down the street at Haley Elementary, and this will be my sixth year teaching 6th grade ELA. I believe in the importance of being a life-long learner and inspiring my students to take every opportunity as a learning experience. 

    My Educational Philosophy

    One of my goals each year is to create and maintain high expectations, accountability, and mutual respect both within and outside of my classroom community. Students tend to thrive when they feel as though their opinions are valued, their voices are heard, and they are given mutual respect. I pride myself in creating an environment in which students feel comfortable taking risks and learning through experience, and understand the value of perseverance and developing problem-solving skills.
