    My Education and Professional Background

    • Certification in Orff Schulwerk, Arizona State University, Levels I & II

I am from Midland, Michigan where I was educated in the public schools. My love for music began in music at school as well as church choir. Learning how to play instruments is fun, and my main instruments include piano, flute, and French horn. While at ASU, I participated in several music groups such as the Sun Devil Marching Band (marched in the Rose Bowl & Sun Bowl!), Wind Ensemble, Concert Band, and Choral Union (sang with Phoenix Symphony!).

I live in Chandler with my husband, son Matthew, daughter Jenna, and our 3 cats. My son is starting Aviation at CGCC Williams Gateway with hopes to be a pilot or air traffic controller. My daughter is a Freshman at Basha High, loves volleyball, art and the variety of clubs. As a family, we enjoy traveling and watching sports! Our favorite teams to cheer for are ASU, Ohio State, AZ Dbacks, NY Mets, Phx Suns, and USA Olympics!

    My Educational Philosophy

The best job in the world is teaching students the joy of music and how it greatly affects our lives. I strongly believe that the arts are very important for emotional development. Watching students work hard to achieve success is very exciting!
