My Educational Philosophy

I am passionate about teaching English. Growing up, I had amazing coaches and teachers, so I feel very lucky to get to “pay it forward.” I care about my students and their mental development. They are deciding who they want to become by the choices they make each day. I encourage my students to take pride and ownership in their education. I enjoy witnessing my students persevere and overcome challenges. I cheer them on! My goal is to foster a nurturing learning environment which maintains my high expectations while also allowing students to learn from the mistakes they may make. The classroom is a safe place to fail and a glorious place to succeed. I ask parents to encourage their children to communicate for themselves. “It takes a village to raise kids” and I am honored to be a part of your village. You only get four years of high school; Let’s make this year amazing!
