    Welcome to 8th grade Language Arts!

    My Education and Professional Background

    I received my undergraduate degree in Education from Arizona State University. I pursued my Masters of Education in Instruction and Curriculum at Grand Canyon University, and a Masters of Education in Educational Leadership at Northern Arizona University. 

    Over the past thirteen years I taught ELA and Reading Intervention to 6th through 8th graders, and spent one year as a Title I School Improvement Specialist. I soon realized that my heart is in the classroom, and I am so happy to be at Santan Junior High this year teaching 8th grade Language Arts.

    I hold my certificate in K-8 education with a Reading Endorsement, Secondary Education: English, and Principalship. 

    My Educational Philosophy

    My educational philosophy begins and ends with culture. In the classroom, every student has their own way of learning, their own personality, and comes with their own strengths. When you put all these components together and step back to look at the big picture, you can see that each student is a piece of a puzzle that comes together to build a culture of respect, safety, and growth.
