    Welcome to Art at SJHS!

    I am the mom of four kiddos and the wife of a scientist. I love hiking, camping, snowboarding, and walking my dog, Sunny. I grew up in the LA area while my dad was working at Walt Disney Studios. I have lived in Michigan, Maryland, Utah, and Boston. I studied Watercolor painting and printmaking most heavily in college and did my student teaching abroad in Chihuahua, Mexico.

    In our class, we learn to generate ideas and find creative solutions to visual problems. In general art, we will connect art history with dozens of art techniques and media.

    My Education and Professional Background

    I have a BA in Art Education from BYU in Provo, UT. I have been teaching in various capacities for ten years. I taught photography in Boston, Preschool and Elementary Art in Utah, and Art Masterpiece in Arizona. I love helping students find their passion in art and enjoy teaching them to use that creative outlet. 

    My Educational Philosophy

    -I believe that creativity is the key to innovation. As we become familiar with tools in art, we will have less limitations in expressing our original thoughts and imaginative solutions
