    Welcome! I am excited to be the first step in your child's K-12 education. Kindergarten is a year filled with exploration, growth, and new experiences and I look forward to being a part of your child's journey here at Carlson!

    My Education and Professional Background

    I am a native Arizonan that grew up in Mesa/Tempe and attended all of my K-12 schooling in Mesa. I earned my bachelors degree from The University of Arizona (Go Cats!) in 2004 and my masters degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Northern Arizona University in 2008. I also have an Early Childhood endorsement. I taught first grade from 2004-2006 and Kindergarten from 2006 to present.

    My Educational Philosophy

    My goal is to provide students with a positive and engaging learning environment in which they can become life long learners and know that they are free to take risks and make mistakes. I set high expectations for all of my students and work with them to create personal goals to achieve them. I hope to spark a love of learning in each child. It is also important to me to create a safe, accepting environment where all children feel valued and respected.
