I am so excited to be a part of the AJHS family again this year! I began teaching in 2004 in central Phoenix as a 6th grade teacher. I came to Andersen Jr. High in 2011 and have taught ELA, Science, or Math for 6th, 7th, and 8th grade. I've now been teaching the AVID Elective class and coordinating the program since 2020 and love helping students find their true potential! My Educational Philosophy
Education empowers people to improve their own lives and make a difference in their communities and beyond!
I provide a learning environment where students are challenged by rigorous content, but feel safe taking academic risks, working independently or with a group, setting and achieving goals, and building relationships. The Choice is Yours! Why Choose Andersen Junior High?
We know you have a choice when it comes to schools and we believe Andersen Junior High School is the best! I chose CUSD and AJHS, my neighborhood school, for myself and my family and would encourage you to do the same. Here at Andersen, students are encouraged to think deeply about the content and make connections to the world around them. A variety of classes, clubs, and programs are offered to meet students' academic and extracurricular needs and help shape well-rounded individuals. The student population represents the diverse community in which we live and work. Students leave AJHS ready for the next phase of their lives. Great things come from the foundations we build at Andersen!
