    Welcome to 5th grade! I am very excited to be working with you and your child this year. Working together, we can ensure that your child will have a successful school year. Please feel free to contact me with any comments, questions, or concerns you may have.

    My Education and Professional Background

    I have been teaching since 2005 and have a Bachelors of Elementary Education degree from Arizona State University and a Masters in Elementary Education from Northern Arizona State University. I have taught 5th grade since I started teaching and I love it! I like to teach all subjects but have a fondness for reading. It is so much fun to watch the children discover and explore the topics they are learning about. The best part of my job is being able to see my students grow and mature into responsible and independent children throughout the school year.

    My Educational Philosophy

    My educational philosophy is simply that all children have the ability and the willingness to learn. It is my job as the teacher to teach them to want to learn and to teach them how learning is fun. All children do not learn the same way but they are ALL able to be taught to become lifelong learners. Life’s best lessons do not come from a book, but from the acts of doing and experiencing.
