    Dear Puma Nation,

Welcome to Perry High School, Home of the Pumas. I would like to formally introduce myself to you and your students(s). My name is Heather Patterson, the principal at Perry High School. I was born and raised in Arizona and graduated from Northern Arizona University. I have been married for 25 years, and my three children have all attended Chandler schools. This is my 21st year as an educator, with 18 of those years spent at Perry. I have held two leadership roles on campus: I first served as Perry’s activities principal and more recently as the assistant principal working with Advanced Placement and Dual Enrollment. As the daughter of lifelong educators, I have the utmost respect for the teaching profession, and having served at Perry as many years as I have, I know first-hand how hard working and dedicated the staff of this wonderful school is. No matter the challenges faced, our teachers have risen to the occasion with help from our supportive community. I take considerable pride in Perry High School and the community we serve.

High school is an important steppingstone in students’ lives. The education they receive, and the relationships formed during these four years, will guide students towards post-secondary success. Perry High will continue to provide a safe, supportive learning environment where all students are treated with dignity and respect. The progress Perry students make in their high school career will be significant.

We offer strong academic programs in English, math, science, world languages and social studies, with honors, Advanced Placement (AP), and Dual Enrollment (DE) classes. We are the only high school in CUSD to offer the STEM and STEM Scholar diplomas. Our Fine Arts and Career and Technical Education (CTE) Departments are just as robust and are routinely recognized as some of the top programs in the state and nation. Our Counseling Department provides much needed support for the academics, as well as the emotional needs, of our students. The Special Education Department provides an individualized education plan and support for every student on an IEP. Our athletic programs are competitive, continually going deep into the post season. We support more than 80 active clubs on campus in which students can participate. I hope your student will make a connection on our campus, become actively engaged, and find their purpose while at Perry High School.

As we embark together on the next chapter with you and your student(s), know my door is always open. As Perry’s Principal, I am committed to building upon the solid foundation laid for the past 19 years by our alumni, teachers, administration, staff, and community.

    Respectfully,
