Welcome!

Let me first introduce myself! My name is Nicole Cullen and I have been working in CUSD for 17 years now. Remember everyone…this is a team effort! I, as your teacher, and you, as the students, WE need to work together in maintaining a comfortable and safe learning environment for all. It is expected that all students respect and understand the rules and policies of Perry High as well as the class syllabus. I’m looking forward to another great year and many more to come!

My Education and Professional Background

I am a former graduate of Chandler High and attended Arizona State University. During my time at ASU, I was a Maroon & Gold scholar-athlete, played softball, and earned my degree in Criminal Justice. I completed my Masters in Secondary Education: Curriculum and Instruction from Northern Arizona University. Prior to becoming a teacher, I was a bailiff in drug/criminal court for two years at the Superior Court of Arizona. I have been a teacher at Perry High since its opening and am highly qualified in American History, American Government, and Criminal Justice. Prior subjects I have also taught include World History, Advanced Placement American Government/Politics, and Criminology. In addition, I taught at Chandler High and Hamilton High for 3 years collectively having coached ladies’ JV softball and basketball. I formerly coached basketball, softball, and cross country for Perry High as well.

My Educational Philosophy

I believe in encouraging young people to find their niche in life, and to use the skills and knowledge obtained from school even beyond their high school years. I feel it is imperative to instill a sense of pride and integrity so that students can succeed and find out where their passion lies.
