    I am proud to be the principal of Tarwater Elementary School. Tarwater is a very special place where caring adults work hard to bring out the best in every child. We encourage you to be involved in our very connected community and see for yourself what we know to be Toro True!




    My Education and Professional Background

    I began my teaching career in the Tempe School District after graduating from Northern Arizona University. I moved to Chandler Unified Schools shortly after and taught for 12 years at Andersen and Humphrey Elementary Schools. I left the classroom to work in curriculum development and professional development of teachers for the Chandler Unified School District. I learned to love impacting student learning by empowering and teaching teachers. Later, as the Assistant Director of Gifted Education and Dual Language Immersion, I worked to develop and implement innovative programs for CUSD. Putting all of those professional experiences to work for one community like Tarwsater has been my dream come true. I love being part of and contributing to such an outstanding community and staff.

    My Educational Philosophy


    Learning is a natural phenomenon that occurs when the right community, curiosity, and care are provided.
    I believe that the job of an educator is to provide students with the tools, the environment and a reason to be curious.
