    Welcome!

Welcome to Tarwater Kindergarten! I just love teaching the Kindergarten age child and look forward to creating a special bond with each of my students and their families. Kindergarten is a very special year full of academic and social growth. I am very excited and feel privileged to provide a positive start for your child. Together we will create many special memories throughout our Kindergarten year.

    My Education and Professional Background

I received my Bachelors in Business Administration and Spanish from Minnestoa State University, Mankato, and my Post Baccalaureate Degree from ASU in Elem. Ed. I also have a Masters in Curriculum and Instruction from NAU plus I have completed several university hours and district classes in the area of English Language Learners. I have been teaching for thirty plus years in the Chandler School district. I have taught 1st grade at San Marcos Elementary,  Kindergarten at Jacobson, and now proudly at Tarwater. As you can tell from my past experience, I really enjoy getting students off to a great start in school. I also have a strong passion for teaching children how to read.

    My Educational Philosophy

As a teacher it is my goal to provide a well-rounded classroom with lessons and activities that are engaging, and exciting for students. I will provide a structured, positive, loving environment where children have the ability to reach their academic potential. Throughout the year I will also focus on our Toro Targets: Respect, Responsibility, Integrity, Courage, and Compassion which will help shape the character of my students. I believe every student is important and I will try my best to help them become successful learners. I have your child’s heart and academics in mind!
