I am truly proud to call myself a Firebird! Since 1975, Willis has served the Chandler community, meeting with a great deal of success in academic and athletic endeavors and preparing young people for future success. I am honored to be able to serve as principal as our staff strives to ensure that Willis Junior High School meets the needs of our diverse student population. Our purpose is to serve the families of the Willis community, and we take that commitment seriously. Go Firebirds!
My Education and Professional Background
I hold a BA from Kansas State University and MEd from Arizona State University. I have worked for the Chandler Unified School District as a teacher (math and science) and administrator for fifteen years. All of my years in education have been at the junior high level--an age group that I find invigorating. I absolutely love the energy, enthusiasm, and resilience of students at this age.
My Educational Philosophy
I am a firm believer that EVERY child is deserving of a quality education that is appropriately challenging and meets their individual needs. As the principal at Willis, my goal is to foster a school environment where students feel safe, valued, and supported. Education is a service profession and it is a partnership between staff, students, and families. As a school leader, I want to foster collaboration that benefits our students and our school community. Every child can succeed!
