    Welcome to Gifted Social Studies! As your teacher, I am here to guide you through the fascinating journey of the past, fostering connections, nurturing critical thinking and uncovering the multiple perspectives within history's stories. Together, we will delve into the past, seeking patterns to apply to today. We will develop skills within our daily learning to make you a life long learner. Get ready to explore, question, and collaborate!

    My Education and Professional Background

    I started my teaching career in 1995. I graduated from Arizona State University in 1994 with my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education; and I have my master's degree from Northern Arizona University in Curriculum and Instruction. I am highly qualified in Middle School Language Arts and Middle School Social Studies. I also have my Gifted Endorsement. In 2023, I was nominated for the Patricia Behring National History Teacher of the year.

    My Educational Philosophy

    I believe it is important to challenge and support all students. It is my job to help students find their strengths to harness their potential. I try and give students many avenues to find themselves so they can make goals. This in turn will make them strong citizens of our community. My goal is to give all students the foundation that allows them to be successful in whatever path they choose.
