    Welcome to Kindergarten! I am thrilled to embark on this exciting journey with you and your child.

    My Education and Professional Background

    I graduated from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia in 1996 with a Master of Science in Education. In September 1998, I taught my first class of Kindergartners at Winding Creek Elementary in Stafford, Virginia. At the completion of the school year, I moved to Arizona. Since July 1999, I have loved teaching at Sanborn Elementary in both kindergarten and first grade. I have an Early Childhood Endorsement as well as a Structured English Immersion Endorsement.

    My Educational Philosophy

    A former principal of Sanborn, Mrs. Hock, would always tell the children, “You are unique, loveable, and capable of success”. I am a firm believer of this. Not every child learns the same way or comes to school with the same knowledge. However, every child can learn and it is up to me, with the support of his/her parents, to provide the best learning experience for each child.
