Welcome to 7th Grade English Language Arts! This website is here to help you navigate through a successful school year in ELA at Bogle Jr. High. Let's have a great year full of fun, reading and learning!
My Education and Professional Background
I moved to Tempe, Arizona from Madison, Wisconsin to attend Arizona State University where I earned a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. Go Sun Devils! I also hold a master's degree from the University of Phoenix in Secondary Education. I am Highly Qualified to teach English at the secondary level (7-12) and I hold a K-12 ESL (English as a Second Language) endorsement. My teaching career began at a special needs school in Scottsdale, teaching 7th through 12th grade students in a self-contained classroom. I have also taught at the junior high level in Chicago and Phoenix. I have been teaching 7th grade ELA in CUSD since 2012, and at Bogle since 2018. I couldn't be happier to be a Bogle Bulldog!
My Educational Philosophy
Our classroom is a place where students feel safe and comfortable to be themselves. It is a place full of student engagement and positive learning experiences. I want my students to find meaning and purpose, as well as make relevant connections though life and literacy in all they do. I believe students should be prepared to be conceptual thinkers in an ever-changing diverse society.
