    Welcome!

Around here, however, we don't look backwards for very long. We keep moving forward, opening up new doors and doing new things, because we're curious...and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths.

    My Education and Professional Background

I attended Northern Arizona University and earned a Bachelor's degree in Secondary Education with an emphasis in Spanish and a minor in History. I meet the highly qualified requirements set by the State of Arizona and also hold an SEI endorsement.I have worked and interacted with kids for as long as I have had a job. During college, I was a nanny and worked at an after-school program at a local public school. I spent about 5 years with the Flagstaff school district until I moved to Phoenix in July of 2012. I have been teaching at Arizona College Prep since January of 2013 and have taught multiple level of Spanish and various student leadership courses.

    My Educational Philosophy

I am passionate and excited about the subjects I teach as well as the students that I teach. I want to share my knowledge so that students become self sufficient and leave with an awareness of their unique abilities and opportunities. I am here to guide and help my students in anyway possible, however they must take an active role in their learning. I want my students to be challenged and to see that when they study a different language in the classroom it can be applied in the real world situations. I have high expectations for my students and want to create a learning environment that reflects those expectations. I ask that students and parents partner with me in taking responsibility for the education that will be received here at ACP. To sum up, "It's okay to not know but it's not okay to not try."
