About
Schwartz...
Welcome to the world of Theatre! Ms. Schwartz has worked with various theatrical companies in Maricopa County. In the summer of 2014, she spent 3 weeks studying at the Globe Theatre in London, England. Ms. Schwartz is a member of the Educational Theatre Association (EdTA) and has had her talents in theatrical make-up recognized in Dramatics magazine. She was also one of 25 theatre educators invited to participate in the Lesson Plan Project though EdTA in the spring of 2019.
My Education and Professional Background
Ms. Schwartz has a Bachelor's in Theatre and a Master's in Education. She is certified to teach both Theatre and Dance and has run high school departments in both subjects. In addition to teaching at Basha High School, Ms. Schwartz teaches workshops and master classes at the EdTA national conference and the International Thespian Festival. Ms. Schwartz is the sponsor for the International Thespian Society and the competitive improv team, S.I.C.
My Educational Philosophy
Theatre is the backbone of professional life. The ability to speak well in front of others, expand your personal boundaries beyond personal perceived limits, and an appreciation of how greatly the arts can affect the world around you is my goal for all students. I am privileged to help guide students through the wonderfully terrifying journey of high school.
