Bouvier (Miss B)...
I am excited to be part of your child's learning experience here at Santan Elementary!! I look forward to working with the fabulous Santan staff and providing your child with an excellent educational experience! Go Stormers!!!
My Education and Professional Background
I graduated from Arizona State University *Go Devils!* in May of 1998 with my Bachelor of Arts in Education degree in Special Education. I have my teacher certifications in Learning Disability, Emotional Disability, and Intellectual Disability. I am fully endorsed in Structured English Immersion. I taught in Mesa Public Schools from August 1998 until December 2002 when I took “early retirement” to start my family. I am a first generation Arizona native growing up in Tempe. I went to Curry Elementary, Connolly Junior High and McClintock High School (Once a Charger, Always a Charger!) I am a lifelong learner and retained my teacher certifications during my hiatus. I have worked with people with various disabilities throughout my lifetime.
My Educational Philosophy
I believe that all children can learn if given the “toolbox of knowledge!” I understand that all children learn in different ways and at their own pace. I have built a large repertoire of teaching techniques to assist in every child’s learning. I believe that no child should be excluded due to their learning abilities.

McPhail...
Come sing with the choirs and express yourself in a whole new way. From Blues to Broadway, and Lullabies to Love songs, singing with others teaches you how to feel all your emotions when words by themselves just aren’t enough.
My Education and Professional Background
I began my Music Education career in central Pennsylvania after receiving a Music Education degree from the University of Georgia and a Masters Degree from Pennsylvania State University. Before coming to Chandler, I also worked as a Museum Curator in museums in Georgia and Alabama. However, when I and my family first came to Arizona in the middle of hot summer day, I knew I had arrived in the right place because I love the heat!
My Educational Philosophy
If animals in nature can sing beautifully, then certainly you can too. Becoming a better singer means first learning how to trust that the audience will listen – starting with yourself. Then you can be taught how to change thoughts, words, actions, and feelings into beautiful and powerful melodies and harmonies. Music is all around us, and when we sing while others listen, we are connected.

Moy...
Welcome back! I recently moved to Gilbert and I am just so excited to be here at Santan and to work with the children. I am a mother of 2 beautiful boys, Ace and Max that also motivates me everyday to be a better occupational therapist!
My Education and Professional Background
I earned my bachelor’s of science in Business Management at Arizona State University and graduated in 2005. For a couple of years I explored different types of positions, one of which was a youth care worker working with troubled youths in a juvenile center. This is when I knew that working in public service involving children was a right fit for me and was the most meaningful! So after much research, I found out about occupational therapy and never looked back! I earned my master’s of science in occupational therapy from A.T. Still University in Mesa, AZ in 2010. Since 2013, I have worked full-time with children in the school setting.
My Educational Philosophy
My goal is to support the students so that they can participate, be more independent, confident and successful in the educational environment and beyond. I am here to also support the teachers and staff so that we can all rejoice in the progress, no matter how small or significant, the students achieve everyday. “Alone we can do so little, Together we can do so much.”

Daffara...
Welcome to preschool! I am so excited to get know all the students this year. Preschool is such a fun time, it is often a child's first experience with school and being with their peers. In preschool, students learn and grow so much in a very short period of time. I love to see how much each child changes and grows over the course of the school year.
My Education and Professional Background
I earned my bachelor’s degree from Arizona State University in Family Resources in 2002, and a master’s in special education from Northern Arizona University in 2010. I taught special education preschool in Phoenix Elementary District before coming to Chandler district in 2016.
My Educational Philosophy
I believe that young children learn best through hands on experiences. Making learning fun and relevant to preschoolers is key. Our curriculum and weekly lesson activities foster learning through our senses and are adapted for each child’s individual needs to make it meaningful for all. I believe that much of preschool is learning social skills, and being able to interact positively with teachers and peers. The teacher, paraprofessionals, and therapist work together to develop a relationship with each child so they feel safe and cared for in our classroom community.

Welcome!
I'm very happy to be teaching for the Chandler School District. I grew up in Mesa, AZ and have taught strings since 1997 in various parts of the States and overseas. I'm thankful to be back in the Valley of the Sun and to bring my experience as a teacher and professional musician to my students in Chandler.
My Education and Professional Background
My various teaching positions have led me to various parts of the States and overseas. I have had the privilege to serve as the Director for the Suzuki Academy of Columbia in South Carolina and also as an adjunct instructor in String Pedagogy at the University of South Carolina. I played regularly on violin and viola in various churches and in the South Carolina Philharmonic. Prior to living in South Carolina, I was in England where I taught Suzuki students in Cambridge and at the Royal Air Force Mildenhall and performed with the Cambridge Philharmonic. Other places that I have played and taught include Shreveport, LA, Eugene, OR, and Mesa, AZ. I have a Doctorate of Musical Arts and Master of Music Degree in Viola Performance and String Pedagogy from the University of Oregon, a Master in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix, and a Bachelor of Music Education from Arizona State University.

Welcome to technology! This year is going to be a very exciting and rewarding year. I am very excited to share all the moments with you. I cannot wait to get to know all of you.
My Education and Professional Background
I am actually a product of the Chandler Unified School District. I went to elementary school at Shumway Elementary, junior high at Willis Junior High, and high school at Hamilton High. After high school, I left Chandler and went to school in Flagstaff at Northern Arizona University. In 2004 I graduated, Summa Cum Laude, with a Bachelor of Science in Education. In 2007, I completed my masters in Curriculum and Instruction from NAU. I started teaching 3rd grade in 2004 and since have taught 4th grade and am now teaching technology.
My Educational Philosophy
As a teacher, I am dedicated to providing students with all the necessary ways and tools to be successful in their learning. In our classroom we work together as a team and always show mutual respect. I believe that students need a mixture of hands on learning, cooperative learning and as well as independent study. Every student needs a protected, caring, and stimulating classroom environment in which to grow and mature emotionally, academically, and socially. I strive to create that environment to help students meet their potential in these areas by creating a class climate that is safe, supports risk-taking, and invites students to share their ideas and thoughts.

Sanford...
Dear Future Students and Parents, Welcome to an incredible sixth grade year! We will learn and experience many new things together. You will be both amazed and proud at all that you have accomplished by the time our journey together ends. I am looking forward to getting to know you so that we may begin working as a team to create a successful sixth grade year. Welcome to the wonderful and exciting world of sixth grade! I look forward to working together! Sincerely, Ms. Kim Sanford
My Education and Professional Background
I spent my first two years after graduating from high school at the University of California at Santa Cruz. After some consideration, I found that Arizona State University has a program more tailored to my goals. I graduated with a BS in Family Resources and Human Development and a minor in Psychology. A few years later I went be to receive my Post-Baccalaureate Teacher Certification. I student taught at Santan Elementary and was hired to teach sixth grade the following year! In 2019 I earned my National Board Teacher Certification in Literacy:Reading-Language Arts-Early and Middle Childhood.
My Educational Philosophy
Every child deserves an environment in which they can learn and demonstrate what they know and what they can do. I believe that this environment must be fostered within a classroom between students and teacher where a child feels valued and accepted in order for them to work to their best abilities. This comes with structure, high expectations for all students, and the support needed for student to strive for success. Additionally, education is a team effort between the student, teacher, and their care givers. All three have to work together to have a student grow and thrive, both socially and academically.

Edwards...
Welcome! My name is Tisha Edwards and I am happy to be teaching fifth grade at Santan Elementary school. Teaching is a passion for me. I have dedicated myself to educating children since 1999. I have been teaching at an elementary level since 2012. I have taught bilingual kindergarten, third grade, fifth grade, and many years of preschool.
My Education and Professional Background
I graduated from ASU in 1998 with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education with an ESL Endorsement. I am continually striving to learn more through reading, research, and continued education.
My Educational Philosophy
Every child is a capable learner. It is the job of teachers and schools to provide an environment that promotes learning for all students. It is my goal to understand each child’s individual needs, preferences, and strengths. Through my unique relationships with my students, I hope to create an enjoyable classroom environment where children are able to learn using different modalities, pursue their strengths, and grow in areas of weakness. I believe that learning does not stop at school. Promoting learning opportunities at home is equally important to life-long educational success as providing a good school experience. Because of that, I believe that the parent-teacher connection is key to student success within my classroom. I am grateful for opportunities to communicate with and get to know my students’ families.

Delsante...
My name is Katrina Delsante and I have been teaching 6th grade at Santan Elementary since 2017. I am a New Jersey native and a Penn State University graduate. My husband and I have three children and all of them are either current or former CUSD students. When the school day ends and homework is complete, you can find us either at a softball field or hockey rink. It's a crazy busy life but we wouldn't trade it for anything!
My Education and Professional Background
I have a B.S. in Marketing from Penn State University and received my Post-Baccalaureate Degree in Elementary Education in May 2017. Teaching is a second career for me. Upon graduating Penn State, I worked in New York as an executive for both Saks Fifth Avenue and the Ralph Lauren Corporation in their retail buying offices. My husband and I relocated to Arizona in 2001 where we both have embarked upon new career endeavors.
My Educational Philosophy
My philosophy in the classroom is to encourage students to discover their natural strengths and to use those strengths as a foundation for areas in need of further development. In Room 12 we work hard but we find time to laugh. We build from our natural abilities but take risks by stepping out of our comfort zones. We celebrate our differences but also work together as a community. Sixth grade, the bridge between elementary school and junior high, is a unique year filled with new experiences and elevated expectations. I am honored to be a part of this extraordinary time in a student’s life.

Artist...
Welcome to Band! I teach at Riggs, Ryan, Bologna and Santan. I am so excited that your child chose to learn an instrument. It can be one of the most rewarding experiences. I hope your child enjoys learning their instrument as much as I enjoy teaching it. I thank you for supporting your child with this endeavor. Please feel free to email me(name/school) with ANY questions or concerns you may have and anything else you feel I should know about your child to make this experience most enjoyable.
My Education and Professional Background
I received my music education degree in 1995 from VanderCook College of Music in Chicago. My main instruments are flute and oboe but I learned to play ALL instruments in college, including strings. I have taught many areas and levels of music from grades k-12 such as general music, choir, and concert band as well as marching band and jazz band. I have been teaching with Chandler Unified School District since 2006 and have taught at almost a dozen district schools including Basha High. I attended graduate school at Nova Southeastern University in Florida. Beyond the classroom, I'm a private lesson instructor, a freelance musician and a colorguard tech for the WGAZ circuit.
My Educational Philosophy
Music is a universal language, 'the language of emotions'. For children, music has many benefits. It boosts their brain power and improves their memory. Music facilitates learning other subjects and enhances skills that children inevitably use in other areas It teaches them confidence, patience, coordination and socialization. Music can be a much needed connection for kids in ways that other things will not allow. It teaches discipline, fosters creativity and is a great form of expression. Music is Math, langUage, hiStory, readIng, sCience! All of which is food for the mind, body, and soul!

Maize...
Welcome to Kindergarten! My name is Ms. Maize and I am going to be your child’s teacher this year. We have an action packed, fun filled year planned ahead as we learn to read through the use of wonderful literature, use manipulatives to become mathematicians, discover and create using hands-on STEM and science experiments, and learn about each other and the different people and cultures in the big world around us.
My Education and Professional Background
I graduated with honors from Arizona State University, earning a BA in Elementary Education and endorsements in Early Childhood Education and English as a Second Language. I taught second and third grades for 3 years in the Scottsdale School District. In 2001 I was honored to be one of 16 teachers in the state of Arizona to receive the KTVK 3TV Silver Apple Award for teaching excellence! In 2003 I joined CUSD and opened Santan K-8, where I taught third grade for 4 years. In 2007 I became a full time mother and owned and operated an in-home preschool for the next 5 years. In 2012, I returned to CUSD and have been teaching Kindergarten since my return.
My Educational Philosophy
I believe that every child is deserving of a safe, caring, academically stimulating and nurturing learning environment. Students should feel comfortable in allowing themselves to take risks to deepen their knowledge and grow not only intellectually, but emotionally and socially as well. It is my honor to help students foster a love and desire for lifelong learning and working hard to reach their goals and dreams.
