Welcome to Music! I am thrilled to be a part of the Fulton family this year and excited to delve into the basics of this beautiful art form. In music class, we will learn about music through a variety of experiences. We will be singing, dancing and moving, reading musical notation, playing instruments, listening to music, and analyzing music.

My Education and Professional Background

A Chandler resident for 13 years, I attended Bogle Junior High School and graduated from Hamilton High School in 2010. After high school, I pursued my Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from Northern Arizona University. Upon completion of my Bachelor's degree, I moved to New York City to obtain my Master of Music in Voice from Mannes School of Music. I am extremely excited to be at Fulton Elementary for my fifth year of teaching and can't wait to inspire hundreds of young musicians!

My Educational Philosophy

There is a simple reason behind my decision to teach. I want to impact lives with the power of musical experience. Teaching is an invitation to a relationship. I invite students into a relationship with music. Music study is an intimate and visceral experience. Through music study we learn about ourselves and about life, a process that is both exhilarating and sometimes difficult. I endeavor to guide students through this process and help them discover a musical voice that is uniquely their own.

Welcome!

Hi! I'm Margie Foster. I am so happy to be Librarian here at Fulton. I have been happily married to 'my person,' Jeff for 29+ years. We have two dogs (our kids): Foxxy, a border collie mix, and our newest addition, Pearl, a jack russell. In my spare time, I love to hang out with friends, read, plan, and visit my family when possible.

My Education and Professional Background

I graduated from Arizona State University in 1999 after serving as a teacher's aide in first grade for 5 1/2 years. I knew my calling the moment I stepped into the classroom. The pursuit of my Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education made it very clear to me that I loved everything about school. I then went on to garner my Master of Education from Northern Arizona University in 2006. I truly consider myself a lifelong learner. I have been teaching in since 1999. Time flies when you're having fun! I joined the CUSD team in the 2003-2004 school year teaching AM & PM Kindergarten. While part of CUSD, I have taught grades K, 1, 2, 3, 6, and became the Media Specialist/Library Teacher in 2011. I had the privilege of opening Fulton Elementary in 2007/2008 and call Fulton my home away from home. #fultonlove

My Educational Philosophy

My goal is to help all students find the book lover within. I do everything in my power to provide support, guidance, and learning opportunities for all students. Reading is the gateway to success. I firmly believe every child has the right to a quality education. The skills and support I provide in the library are paramount in that process. What we teach children to love and desire will always outweigh what we make them learn. - Jim Trelease, Read Aloud Handbook

My Educational Philosophy

I believe on focusing on fundamentals first. This may mean taking a few steps back at the beginning however once the students have a firm grasp of the basics it will exponentially increase their ability to be self-sufficient in the long run. When the students can feel successful, especially with something they put together with just a bit of guidance from me, that becomes invaluable because they will want to do it again and again.

Welcome to Mr. Durham's webpage! Please take a moment to learn a little more about me, my background, and my view on education.

My Education and Professional Background

Originally from upstate New York, I moved to Arizona in 2005 and enrolled at Arizona State University, where I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Physical Education in 2008. I then received my Master's Degree in Educational Leadership in 2011 from Northern Arizona University. My career in education began in 2008 as a Physical Education teacher in the Kyrene School District and then 5 years in CUSD. Then in 2016 I accepted my first administrative role at Santan Elementary. As for this year, I am very excited to be the assistant principal at Fulton and be part of the Fire. I look forward to working with all of the staff, students, and parents in continuing and building upon the success of Fulton.

My Educational Philosophy

I believe that every student is capable of learning and with the correct motivation and support they will be successful. In my opinion, it is vital that teacher instruction be geared toward each individual student, since every student learns in a different manner; the teacher must develop a relationship with each student and understand what their interests, abilities, and preferred learning styles are to meet their academic, social, and emotional needs. It is imperative to create an environment where students feel valued, are able to explore their passions, be able to express themselves, and are driven to be successful. My mission as the assistant principal is to help maintain a positive learning environment with set high standards on learning, performance, and citizenship. I will do this by integrating new programs, working with staff members on new strategies that are best suited for their classrooms and students, and by supporting the teachers here to the best of my ability.
