Welcome!
Thank you for your interest in Starfleet Sciences Academy! My name is Rich Pysher, and I am honored to be teaching 7th & 8th Grade Gifted Science (AKA - Sciences of Early 21st Century Earth, Years 1 & 2) at Santan Junior High this year. This is my 20th year of teaching, and 10th year of teaching Junior High Science (9 at SJHS, 1 at Chandler Online Academy).
My Education and Professional Background
I graduated from Hobart College in Geneva, NY in 1994 with a degree in History. I began teaching in 2005, after getting my Masters Degree in Education from the University of Phoenix. I spent 10 years teaching 4th & 5th grade general education in the Kyrene School District before joining Santan in 2015. Prior to teaching, I worked in the financial printing industry (printing investment materials and coordinating compliance filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission for publicly traded companies ) in New York City, Washington, D.C., and in Phoenix.
My Educational Philosophy
I love to teach, and I really love to teach science. I believe that every student enjoys Science, whether they realize it now or not.
My mission is to motivate students to work hard and maximize their academic performance through inquiry and problem based scenarios. With a dash of Star Trek, we will fearlessly explore our part of the galaxy.
I want my students to be well prepared to meet future challenges and to positively contribute to society.Click to Report a Website Problem
