Welcome!
Welcome to Perry High School Choir and AP Music Theory!
My Education and Professional Background
Jameson Staley attended Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee where he studied voice and earned a Bachelor's degree in Music Education and Commercial Music with an emphasis in Composition and Arranging. During his time in college, he performed with the Belmont University Chorale where he also served as a student conductor. After college, Jameson performed for three years with the Nashville Chamber Singers. Before coming to Perry in 2015, he taught choir, general music, and music theory in both high school and middle school in Tennessee.
Jameson's background in music is varied and includes many styles. In addition to singing, he plays piano, guitar, and bass guitar and has been in ensembles ranging from rock bands to traditional choral ensembles and gospel choirs. This diversity is reflected in his teaching, which includes and values both traditional and contemporary forms of vocal music. My Educational Philosophy
Jameson is passionate and enthusiastic about guiding young people in the study and performance of music. Based on his experience as both a student and a teacher, he understands the important role that participating in a musical ensemble can play in helping students develop not only musically but also socially and emotionally. By challenging students to develop their natural music abilities into skills through hard work, he hopes to build confidence and a life-long love of music-making in his students.
