A little bit about me . . .
Hello! I am originally from Utah, but in the last 25 years our family has lived in California, Missouri, Washington, and Georgia due to my husband's schooling and military service. We are happy to finally be settled in Arizona and love the warm weather from October to May. We tolerate the summer heat, but prefer it to living in snow. I enjoy reading, watching movies and plays, going to museums, following politics, exercising, traveling and spending time with my husband and four children.
The year Covid hit (2020-2021) was my first year back teaching High School English after a 25 year hiatus of being a full-time stay-at-home mom to my four children. I have thoroughly enjoyed returning to teaching, and I feel so blessed to do something I love every day. I have taught English at every grade level here at Perry the past three years, and my favorite thing is watching my students grow and mature. I'm currently in an online Master's program through Western New Mexico University studying interdisciplinary studies--English, History and Philosophy. My youngest child just graduated from Perry this last year (2023) and I will be entering the empty nester phase very soon.
I am committed to the success of every learner. Creating a classroom environment where everyone feels safe and connected is my top priority. I believe that without that, students are not able to learn effectively. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions!
