I’d like to take this opportunity to welcome you to the CTA-Freedom Speech Team. I absolutely love what I do and am looking forward to teaching and learning with your child this year!
My Education and Professional Background
I have been the speech therapist at Freedom since 2013. This is my 7th year working as a speech therapist in all, and in the seven years prior to that I worked as a special education teacher. As far as my academic experience, I have a B.A. in Journalism and Mass Communications from New Mexico State University, and an M.A. in Special Education also from New Mexico State University. And in 2014, I graduated from Northern Arizona University with my M.S. in Speech-Language Pathology!
My Educational Philosophy
I firmly believe that my purpose as an educator is to provide my students with high quality instruction in communication development that meets individual needs and is provided in an emotionally- and academically-safe environment. I believe that the highest quality of teaching and learning occurs when there exists a collaboration between student, parent and teacher that is grounded in mutual respect and trust. I strive to exude enthusiasm for my field so as to model my genuine and care for my student’s progress. Lastly, I work diligently to provide equitable opportunities for my students to succeed in the general educational curriculum.
