    Welcome!

Parents and students, welcome! I am delighted to be a part of your school year. It is my desire that all students are successful in achieving their full potential. Our task together will be to make that possible, and my mission is to provide practical step-by-step assistance throughout this year.

    My Education and Professional Background

Born and raised in Arizona, I am a product of Gilbert Public Schools (pre-k thru 12th grade). Soon after, I attended Arizona State University where I obtained my Bachelor of Arts in History with an emphasis on Secondary Education in 2015. Throughout my time at ASU, I was a Dean's List student and graduated with Cum Laude honors. While teaching, I will pursue graduate work in Educational Leadership. During my program at ASU I completed four field experiences, three at the middle school level (two in Chandler Unified). My coursework was completed after finishing my fourth experience, student teaching at Red Mountain High School in Mesa. I have since had the pleasure of teaching social studies at Andersen Junior High from 2015-2018. I have been a Payne Panther since the 2018-2019 school year.

    My Educational Philosophy

Being a learner-centered educator I value personal experiences, interests, and the needs of the individual. I strive to facilitate individuals through the educational process by providing a foundation, which they build upon through meaningful skill-based work. Students in my classroom control their own education, understand/appreciate their uniqueness, and assume responsibility for their actions. I firmly believe that positive recognition through rewards, incentives, and accountability will create a behavior for the better interest of an individual's learning.
