    Welcome!

    Welcome to First Grade at Tarwater Elementary! I am so excited to be your child's first grade teacher this year! A little about me; I grew up in the windy city of Chicago and have been living in Arizona for the past 16 years. Some of my favorite things to do are hiking, camping, playing with dogs and my one year old son! I can't wait for our journey together this school year!

    My Education and Professional Background

    I graduated from Arizona State University with a Masters of Education in Elementary Education. I spent three years teaching first grade in Chandler and spent one year teaching first grade in Oregon. This will be my eighth year teaching first grade and my fourth year in the Mandarin DLI program.

    My Educational Philosophy

    I believe in every child and the whole child. Every child has the ability to learn and grow. To encourage and assist with learning and emotional growth I hope to create a safe, respectful, and exciting classroom environment. I love working with families to better the whole child.
